Christin & Michael in Mobile, AL

Christin & Michael in Mobile, AL
Christin and Michael hit it out of the ballpark with a holiday-theme wedding in Mobile.
Photos By: Jackie Benton, Mobile
Location: Ashbury Hotel & Suites, Mobile
The bride wore a strapless satin A-line gown with beading by St. Tropez.
Christin and Michael chose a four-tier white cake with raspberry filling topped with red roses.
Non-drinkers Christin and Michael offered lemonade, lime water, hot apple cider, and Sweet Tea (to honor their Southern heritage) at the cocktail hour. Another nod to their Southern roots? The groom‘s cake -- a baseball-inspired, decadent chocolate praline creation.
With help from their "huge family of vendors," Christin and Michael pulled off their holiday-themed wedding in December -- Christin's favorite time of year.

The Date December 11

It's flattering enough to be asked to sing the national anthem at a baseball game. So imagine how Christin Kelly must have felt when she garnered endless applause and earned an invitation to have dinner with the pitcher for the home team (Michael Bumstead). One and a half years later, the couple tied the knot in a holiday-style celebration in her hometown.

Christin was at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, where she grew up, to perform (for the umpteenth time) the "Star Spangled Banner." Suddenly she found herself batting her eyes like a young schoolgirl with a crush. But what she didn't know was that the pitcher whose eye she kept catching was the same guy her friend suggested she meet a week before. "She had mentioned this guy that had been coming to her church," Christin explains. So that night when a stadium worker approached Christin and said a particular player was interested in a date, she responded, "The only player I would be interesting in meeting is the 'church boy.'" Lucky for her, Michael, whose license plate reads I Play 4 The Almighty, was that guy.
